Hi and thanks for letting me be part of the Youth in Action at Allanton I look forward to meeting new people and developing my skills. I hope that the weather is better than today and that it all goes without a hitch *fingers crossed* and that everyone has a great time and learns new things and makes new friends that they can keep in contact with.
14 young Italians and 13 young Scots meet for the first time in a grandly shabby mansion in Dumfries and Galloway for an unusual project. They're here for just one week in August 2011 to work together to explore stories of cultural integration, meeting people who've migrated to live in Scotland and sharing their experience.

Hi. Please bring with you...........
if you can, any musical instruments that you can play, we have a piano. Then we can have live music sessions during the week.
And we will be running an art project during your stay at Allanton. If you'd like to get involved with that please bring some small thing which reminds you of home.........a piece of fabric? a photo? or whatever inspires you. You will be able to take it home again!
Looking forward to meeting you all.

Welcome to Allanton House!
Allanton House in south west Scotland is hard at work preparing to welcome 15 young Italians and 15 young Scots for a remarkable project.
The young people will live for a week in the House and work intensively together on a British Council-funded project 'Exploring Stories of Cultural Integration'. The project has been created to promote inclusion, mutual understanding and increased knowledge and awareness of cultures other than one's own.
The young people will be meeting and working with residents of Dumfries and Galloway who have migrated here from other parts of the world, so D&G Multicultural Association are also closely involved.
